I'm sure you know (because I've mentioned it about half a dozen times), but I'm running the Wasatch Back this next weekend.
I'm not the captain of my team -- and I'm glad I'm not!
Here's why:
The team consists of 12 girls.
A few drop because other commitments come up. One drops here, another there. We pick up a few more to fill our vacancies. Another drops. We get another. One decides it's not going to work.....
I think we've ended up with about three or four of our original 12!
I'm so glad we know quite a few people who run because now, a week before the race, we need to pick up two new girls.
It will all work out, right?
Despite the frantic collection of running bodies, I am so excited for the race!

If someone else drops, you could just run their legs, right? No big deal. You're tough!
I'd love to hear reports. Plus, I have a friend that's training for a marathon and she's an awesome runner. . . just in case another one bites the dust.
